“Because I’m a lesbian, there is no princess with which I can easily identify myself with. And wouldn’t it be nice to see a princess that isn’t ‘traditionally’ pretty? Let’s see buzzed heads and thick waists!
Disney has the power to teach not only children, but adults as well what ‘normal’ and ‘beauty’ can be! This is what a Disney princess could look like!”

Im pretty sure a princess is raised to look proper, neat, and ~fancy~ and all that shit.
so um if you want a buzzed haircut, chunky bitch as a character, dont go wanting it to be a princess. thats just idiocy.
I can be pretty damn proper, neat, and ~fancy~, and I’m a queer fat bitch. I really can’t identify with any princesses either, although I absolutely adore Disney. Asking for a little more diversity isn’t ‘idiocy’. It’s realistic.
“I’m a lesbian, and I can’t help but dislike most feminists simply because they can’t ever find the good in Disney movies, they just pick it apart. I have been watching them since I was young and have tried to watch it from their POV, I just don’t see what they see. They see sexism, I see magic and dreams. I feel like a bad lesbian because of this.”
What? I’m queer and I’d consider myself a feminist. I see a lot of good in Disney movies. In fact, I adore them. I see magic and dreams in them, too, but that doesn’t mean they’re never sexist. It’s perfectly possible to be critical of something while liking it, and Disney movies are often a little problematic. That doesn’t mean feminists can’t like Disney. I think it’s important to recognize the problems in things you like, rather than deem them above all critique.
